چکیده
Western disturbances (WDs) develop as extra-tropical low-pressure systems over the Mediterranean and lose their frontal structure they move eastward toward India. The effect of aerosols on microphysical characteristics precipitation clouds associated with WDs in February 2016 was investigated west coast India adjacent Arabian region. This research highly depends era interim reanalysis ensemble back-trajectory simulation. Among WD event’s pre-mature mature phases, warm humid prevailing winds were observed, resulting substantial aerosol movement. Compared to ERA-Interim thirty-year mean climatology, temperature simulations higher during dissipating phase through phase. During dispersing phase, confluence easterly westerly evident study region’s eastern northeastern areas. Over northern sections country, there a quantity high ratios water-vapor mixing significant level humidity. Precipitation occurred among parts area between phases. All forecasts overstated Odisha, Gujarat, Maharashtra, West Bengal, whereas model underestimated it Kerala, Karnataka, Konkan, Goa. Between phases regions where rainfall cloud fraction (CF) value vertical integration moderate high. relationship optical depth (AOD) showed stimulating presence aerosols, which results enhanced rain

Understanding How Low-Level Clouds and Fog Modify the Diurnal Cycle of Orographic Precipitation Using In Situ and Satellite Observations
Satellite orographic precipitation estimates exhibit large errors with space-time structure tied to landform. Observations in the Southern Appalachian Mountains (SAM) suggest that low-level clouds and fog (LLCF) amplify mid-day rainfall via seeder-feeder interactions (SFI) at both high and low elevations. Here, a rainfall microphysics model constrained by fog observations was used first to reve...
متن کاملMonitoring of SO2 column concentration over Iran using satellite-based observations during 2005-2016
For the first time, sulfur dioxide concentration was monitored between 2005 and 2016 over Iran which is among the countries with a high SO2 emission rate in the world. To that end, SO2 column concentration at Planetary Boundary Layer (PBL) from Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI) was analyzed. OMI is a sensor onboard the Aura satellite which can measure daily SO2 concentration on the global scale...

■ Abstract The influence of surface orography on patterns of precipitation gives rise to some of the most pronounced climate gradients on Earth, and plays a fundamental role in the interaction between the atmosphere and the rest of the Earth System on a wide variety of time scales. The physical mechanisms involved comprise a rich set of interactions encompassing fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, ...
